Christian encouragement for women in life transitions

Surrendering everything. Trusting God in the in-between. Dreaming again.

Abiding leads us gently into what’s next.

There are seasons when life changes without asking.
When what was
familiar falls away, and what’s ahead feels unclear.
This is a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember—
God is already at work in what comes next.

God is Still Writing New Chapters

Abide to Thrive is a quiet space for women seeking to stay rooted through life’s transitions and the unexpected.

Here, you’ll find Scripture-rooted writing, prayer, and gentle reflections offered from the middle of the journey—not the other side. This is a place to breathe, steady your heart in truth, and notice how God is already making a way forward, even as He tends what is still tender.

There is no rush here.
No fixing required.
Only presence, hope, and trust

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

—Isaiah 43:19 ESV

The promise holds us steady when the path ahead is still unfolding.

A Gentle Way Forward

Surrender

Letting go of what we were never meant to carry.

Releasing control.

Placing the unknown back into God’s hand.

Trust

Learning to trust God in the in-between —

where answers are still forming

and faith is quietly deepening

Dream Again

Allowing hope to rise again

Not rushing the future —

But believing God is making something new

A Different Journey than I Envisioned

Life, deep breaths, tears, pain, struggle - hard seasons that seem like they would never end - wondering, will you ever find joy again, putting one foot before the other and looking no further than the day because the horizon has changed and is unfamiliar - Yes, I know I’ve been there. I am there, taking it one step at a time on the biggest faith journey of my life.

Hi, I’m Malissa Tyson—daughter, sister, mother, friend, and a woman learning, day by day, to love what God loves, live as He desires, and delight in Him.

My deepest desire is not to have life figured out, but to know Him more fully as I walk through life in every season. I come imperfect and unfinished, yet surrendered, fully dependent on His grace and strength rather than my own.

My life has been shaped by loss—and by God’s faithfulness within it.

At a young age, grief became a familiar companion with the loss of two siblings within months of each other. In my thirties, I lost another sibling and my mother. In my forties, another sibling and a niece. And now, in my fifties, after 31 years of marriage and the loss of that union, I find myself walking a path I never expected—one marked by transition, surrender, and a quiet recalibration of life.

It was in that stillness that I asked God a simple, honest question:
What now?

His response was an invitation.

“Malissa, abide.” and a year later “Malissa, thrive.”

I share as someone still walking, still listening, and still in a process. As a friend who knows what it is to carry grief, hope, questions, and faith at the same time. A friend who gives sadness its honest space while also allowing the joy of God’s presence and nearness to also take its rightful place.

My prayer is that this space will encourage you to trust God through every season—to believe that healing and hope can coexist, and that what’s ahead is good.

He is with us. And just as He invited me, I invite you — keep putting one foot in front of the other, as you remain in Him, He will guide us to Thrive.
